On 1 July, SE Ignalina NPP will present decommissioning processes and projects implementation progress for European countries, European Commission and European Parliament.

During the meeting of Donors Assembly of Ignalina International Decommissioning Support Fund and meeting on National Support for Decommissioning Program, Lithuanian representatives have invited delegates from donor countries and EU member states to visit Ignalina NPP and get acquainted with current situation and progress achieved. Lithuania endeavours to demonstrate for all the interested parties of international community that decommissioning funds are allocated transparently and effectively.

Namely for this purpose the international conference Ignalina NPP Decommissioning: Committment to Achievement“ is organized on 1 July. Director for Nuclear Energy from the Department of Energy at European Commission Peter Faross, member of European Parliament Marian-Jean Marinescu, representatives of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, representatives of Ignalina International Decommissioning Support Fund's Donors Assembly will attend the conference. Also, specialists from Greifswald (Germany), Bohunice (Slovakia) and Kozloduy (Bulgaria) nuclear power plants will share their experience.

Also, possible grapite management methods will be discussed and Ignalina Carbon Competence Center will be presented during the conference. Known specialist in the field of nuclear power plants reactors graphite management Anthony Wickham (Great Britain) will make a presentation on this subject.

Conference participants will also visit Ignalina NPP and decommissioning sites under construction.
