2011-10-26 Nuclear Safety Experts From The U.S.A. Visited INPP
On 26 October, on the grounds of a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and on the development of defence and military relations, nuclear safety experts from the U.S.A. visited SE Ignalina nuclear power plant (INPP).
The U.S.A. representatives met with INPP management, radioactive waste and ionizing sources protection procedures, the current situation were introduced to them, possible cooperation in the future was discussed.
Such visits are organized in order to contribute to the international nuclear safety initiatives dedicated to protect radioactive materials from the possible use of them in criminal intentions.
