2012-01-20 Ignalina NPP Has Refunded 4 Million Litas to National Decommissioning Fund
In 2011, State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) saved 4 million litas (4 037 883, 44 LTL) of more than 27 million litas (27 594783 LTL) of Ignalina NPP National Decommissioning Fund that were allocated for the enterprise‘s activity in 2011. The saved money has been returned to the Fund.
The saving of 4 million litas has been achieved by optimizing the purchasing of services, the costs of missions and communication, economic activity. Also, some purchasable services and activities are performed by INPP personnel, therefore, the services of some suppliers have been abandoned.
In 2010, more than 61 million litas of the Fund were allocated for the enterprise‘s activity. Almost 18,8 million litas were saved.
The money from National Ignalina NPP Decommissioning Fund are allocated to INPP supervision, fire prevention and dissolution of incidents, ensuring physical security. Also, testings and inspections of technical projects, cadastral measurements and legal registration of newly constructed objects and infrastructure, missions, transport, communication and economic costs and services are financed by these funds.
INPP Units 1 and 2 decommissioning program has been financed from the EU Funds for Ignalina NPP decommissioning, Ignalina International Decommissioning Support Fund, Ignalina NPP National Decommissioning Fund.
