Санитарно-защитная зона - это территория вокруг атомной станции в радиусе 3 км, на которой уровень облучения людей в условиях нормальной эксплуатации может превысить предельную дозу, поэтому в санитарно-защитной зоне устанавливается режим ограничений и проводится радиационный контроль.

Радиационная безопасность ИАЭС обеспечивается комплексом организационно-технических мероприятий, которые исключают возможность превышения установленных радиационных норм. Воздействие на окружающую среду вредных веществ, образующихся в технологическом процессе ИАЭС, исключено проектом. Защита от попадания радиоактивных веществ в окружающую среду построена по принципу последовательных барьеров. Их состояние находится под постоянным контролем.

Controlled area is a territory around the nuclear power plant in radius of 3 kms, where the level of people irradiation in the conditions of normal operation can exceed a limiting doze, therefore in the controlled area the mode of restrictions is established and the radiation monitoring is carried out.

The INPP radiation safety is provided by a complex of managerial and technical arrangements, which exclude an opportunity of excess of the established radiation norms. The influence of harmful substances, formed in technological process of INPP, on the environment is excluded by the project. The protection against the release of radioactive substances into environment is constructed by a principle of consecutive barriers. Their status is under the constant monitoring.
