2011-05-17 Ignalina NPP Management Informed About Implementation of WANO Recommendations
On 11 May State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant's (INPP) management sent a letter to the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) in which confirmed the INPP readiness to implement recommendations of Significant Operating Experience Report SOER 2011-2, which contain actions that WANO members are expected to implement. 2011-05-16 Permission to Construct Nuclear Facility is Received
On 9 May a permission has been issued by State Territorial Planning and Construction Inspectorate under the Ministry of Environment to State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) whereby Ignalina NPP is permitted to construct INPP Solid Waste Management and Storage Facilities (SWMSF). 2011-05-10 Ignalina NPP Decommissioning Process and Financing Needs Have Been Presented in Sweden
On 10 May, the meeting was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Sweden between members of Parliament of Sweden, Director General of Radiation Safety Service, senior officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, representatives of Prime Minister's Office and representatives of State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP). The INPP Director for Corporate Affairs Osvaldas Čiukšys presented Ignalina NPP decommissioning progress, the use of EU funding which is allocated to Ignalina nuclear power plant decommissioning projects and financing needs for the further financial perspective period. 2011-05-06 Prime Minister Has Evaluated the Idea of Ignalina Carbon Competence Center as Strategically Important
On 6 May the internal project Engineering on Dismantling of Units 1 and 2 structures from the Reactor Shafts (UP01) and the idea of establishment of Ignalina Carbon Competence Center were introduced to the Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) Training Center. 2011-05-06 A Construction License for Solid Radioactive Waste Management Facilities Came in Force
A license has been issued by Lithuania’s State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) to SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (Ignalina NPP) whereby Ignalina NPP is permitted to construct solid radioactive waste retrieval and pretreatment facilities. 2011-05-05 Ignalina NPP Has Additionally Earned about 3 Million Litas for the Decommissioning Activity
During four months in 2011 SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) has organized three auctions to sell the property unnecessary for the enterprise formed during implementation of the decommissioning projects. During the auctions the INPP has already earned almost 1 million litas (865 344 litas). The enterprise has also signed an annual ferrous metals scrap purchase and sale agreement which envisages to sell ferrous metals scrap for 1.8-2 million litas by the end of 2011. Read more
