2012-04-24 Business Delegation From Czech Republic Visited INPP
On 24 April diplomats, businessmen and representatives from Trebič and Hradec Kralovec towns municipalities visited Ignalina nuclear power plant (INPP). During the meeting at INPP, Ignalina NPP decommissioning process, realizable projects and ongoing negotiations concerning further INPP decommissioning process funding were presented to the guests. Manufacturers of radiation monitoring systems - representatives of ENVINET company and nuclear research institute REZ, were among the guests that visited Ignalina NPP. Read more

2012-04-23 The Permission Was Received to Perform „Hot“ Test of Storage Facility for Very Low Level Radioactive Waste
On 19 April a permission was issued by State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) to State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) whereby Ignalina NPP is permitted to perform „hot“ test of the project B19/1 (Storage Facility for Short-lived Very Low Level Waste). The permission enables to import radioactive waste in a very low level radioactive waste storage facility site and for the first time to perform test, using radioactive waste in the very low level radioactive waste storage facility. 2012-03-30 The Meeting of Ignalina Programme Monitoring Comittee Was Held
Meetings of Ignalina Programme Monitoring Committee were held on 28 March in Vilnius and on 29 March at the State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP). During the meetings the progress of Ignalina NPP decommissioning process, as well as the efficiency of human resources, time and funds planning and management processes were assessed. Read more

2012-03-29 Ignalina NPP Continues Its Cooperation With The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration
To continue tradition of cooperation with Physical Security Organizing Service (PSOS) the experts from Sandia National Laboratories (USA) were visiting Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) on March 26-28 in order to take part in tabletop training organized by INPP Guard Brigade under State Border Guard Service (SBGS).
