INPP participated in cyber security and defense exercises

On October 22-24, the national cybersecurity and defense exercises "Cyber Shield 2019" took place in Lithuania with the participation of institutions and enterprises of the public and private sectors.

The exercises were organized by the National Cybersecurity Center under the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania together with the Kaunas University of Technology. The focus was on coordinating the activities of participating institutions and making effective decisions to strengthen the cybersecurity and defense of Lithuania.

During the exercises, participants tested and improved their skills in managing cyber incidents, and also examined the internal procedures for cyber incidents of organizations. The Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) was represented by specialists from the cybersecurity group and the information technology department; communications and document management specialists were included in the incident notification system.

In December this year, a conference will be held in the Kaunas Officer Quarter, during which the results of the exercises will be discussed and guidelines for future cooperation will be prepared. INPP specialists will also take part in the conference.
