The INPP closure process presented to the UK Ambassador

Today, 10 November, John Brian Olley, the British Ambassador to Lithuania, visited the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP). The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the INPP decommissioning project, results achieved and progress of project implementation.

During the meeting with the enterprise's management, the Ambassador was briefed on the progress of main decommissioning projects and dismantling activities. At the meeting, the planned dismantling of the reactors, radioactive waste disposal projects, and good practices in the involvement of British companies in decommissioning projects were discussed. Both sides expressed the expectation of continuing to develop mutually beneficial cooperation, sharing knowledge and best practices.

The British Ambassador visited the plant and evaluated the scope and complexity of the dismantling works.
